The Big Bear Valley Contractors Association is dedicated to fostering strong relationships within our community. We strive to promote excellence among our members who are licensed and in good standing with the Contractors State Licensing Board. We connect our network of members to local homeowners and businesses that need their services. Thus, growing our local economy and promoting quality services to our local community. We do this by planning networking events, hosting member meetings with speakers who talk about local policies and current events, and giving back where we can to our local community. We work with the Chamber of Commerce, Doves, and The Homeless Coalition in efforts to connect our members with as many community driven projects and networking opportunities as possible. We started in 1975! We just celebrated our 50 Year Anniversary!!! The party on April 7th 2025 boasted many laughs and story telling. Mike Saderup, a former association President, shared the heartfelt, homegrown, and intriguing history of how BBVCA came to be in the mid 70s. Mike's father was one of the original founders of the association and since, it has been a passion of his son, Mike, to keep the association thriving. Mike shared fun-filled stories about the growth of the home building market in Big Bear during the late 70s and early 80s. He shared how everything that happens around us in our community effects each of our businesses and an organization like ours can really help and impact the lives of it's members. Additionally, how beneficial it has been to connect with and make lifelong friends here in the BBVCA! At one point during the meeting, the question was posed "Who is a past president of BBVCA?" and 5 hands shot up. We are honored to be a community driven and locally run organization of people who grew up, built, and continue to grow love for the Big Bear Valley! We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome new members into our contractors community that has thrived for over 50 years so that the legacy of our mountain community contractors association continues for many generations to come!
